2023 Kia Telluride Release Date, Redesign, Interior Changes

The Kia Telluride was launched in 2020 and has received a lot of praise. The three-row crossover received rave reviews. Kia kept updating it, adding new technology and badges in 2022. Although the 2023 Telluride is still a mystery, there may be a slight redesign based on Kia’s regular refresh schedule, prototype photos, and other information. The model was teased in early pictures before its official debut at New York Auto Show. Kia confirmed that a new X-Pro version would be available.

The current Telluride has a strong exterior with a good, confident body and a unique but not excessively bright lighting scheme. The sides have gentle curves and swoops that fit the excellent theme. Recent spy photos suggest that we may see a slight update to the X-Pro and X-Line models in 2023. This would include a new grille and headlights. There could also be minor changes to the front or rear fascias. According to patent filings, rugged-looking X-Pro or X-Line models are possible. Kia recently confirmed the existence of a Telluride X-Pro.

Interior Improvements

The Telluride’s interior features a spacious and tech-filled cabin with a 10.3-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a third-row seat for adults. Many upgrades are available, including Nappa leather and a Harman Kardon sound system. We expect minimal changes in 2023 Telluride, except for some styling and features unique to the X-Pro or X-Line models.

Telluride’s current model includes a 3.8-liter V6 engine with 291 horsepower and 8-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive options are available. The 2023 Telluride will not see any powertrain modifications. Although hybrid or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants of this popular vehicle are possible, it has yet to be confirmed.

Kia’s current Telluride comes standard with adaptive cruise control, adaptive emergency braking, and blind-spot monitors. These and other great crash tests earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick honors. However, this was only for the EX and SX models with LED headlights. All other headlights received “Poor,” dropping them from the Top Safety Pick category. This is expected to stay the same in 2023 Telluride.

2023 Telluride Color

Three new colors have been added to the lineup: Midnight Lake Blue and Dawning Red. All trim levels have new wheel designs. The interior of the three-row, the eight-seat vehicle takes a moderate leap forward with new air vents, a revised dashboard, and a new steering wheel.

Kia Telluride will follow other SUVs by adding the adventure-minded X-Line or X-Pro trims to its 2023 model year. X-Line offers a 10mm greater ground clearance (about 0.4 inches), a Tow mode, and raised roof rails. X-Line styling features include exclusive colors, body-color door handles, and X-Line badges.

The X-Pro trim adds three key features, which is more expensive than the X-Line model. X-Pro allows you to swap between 18-inch black wheels or 18-inch all-terrain rubber tires. This increases the tow limit from 5,500 to 500 pounds. It also adds a 110V outlet to the cargo area. In the meantime, the Telluride Nightfall Edition has been replaced by X-Line.
